A Collaborative Approach To Public Safety
My approach to public safety has always centered on cooperation and teamwork by coordinating the efforts of everyone involved to foster a positive environment and serve the community at an exceptional level.

Under my leadership, the Rock County Sheriff’s Office will continue to strive for increased community involvement, collaboration, and transparency. As a leader, I effectively communicate expectations, recognize the strengths of those around me, value innovation, and help develop leaders for the future.

Through my 28 years of law enforcement and corrections experience, I have learned that collaboration is essential to problem solving. By embracing an approach that promotes the police and community working together as a team proactively to identify underlying issues that can be addressed collectively, we can reduce crime and enhance public safety.
Experience
COMMUNITY TEAMWORK COLLABORATION PROMOTES SUCCESS
By working together with various community stakeholders, we can combat crime with an emphasis on prevention as well as investigation. Through exploring coordination with other community resources, we will focus on battling the substance misuse disorders which are a driver of criminal behavior in our community. Providing treatment and education will be an emphasis to assist in reducing recidivism and promoting accountability within the inmate population of the Rock County Jail.
Community
The training of Sheriff’s Office staff follows a problem-based learning model in line with community-oriented policing and problem solving. The corrections and law enforcement staff place an emphasis on teamwork to solve problems which impact both the corrections and community environments. Under my leadership, we will continue to train collaboratively with other law enforcement and corrections agencies to ensure that staff are prepared to face the challenges they encounter in the delivery of public safety services to our community.

As a lifelong Rock County resident and 28-year veteran of the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, I believe that my leadership skills, command level law enforcement and corrections experience, community involvement, and success as a champion for the teamwork collaborative approach to problem solving make me the best candidate to serve as the next Sheriff of Rock County.
